Adam Lambert Approves Of His ‘Idol’ Sound-A-Like James Durbin, But Also Rooting For Another Contender

Since he emerged on the “American Idol” landscape last month at the San Francisco auditions, twenty-something James Durbin has faced countless comparisons to Adam Lambert, and now, Adam has chimed in on his sound-a-like.

After catching James’ performance – a high flying rendition of Judas Priest’s “You Got Another thing Coming” – on “Idol” on Tuesday night, Adam gave his seal of Twitter-approval.

“Durbin sounded bada** tonight!” the “Idol” Season 8 runner-up wrote. “Lot more control!”

However, Adam stopped short of being able to agree with the comparisons between James and himself.

“And while we both have a rock scream I think we’re pretty different stylistically,” Adam Tweeted.

Adam said he also was impressed by soul singer Jacob Lusk, who took on Luther Vandross’ “A House Is Not A Home.”

“Ok caught up on idol: Jacob Lusk– Werk it the f*** out sister! I’m so excited to hear u sing every week!!” he wrote.

The Top 12 men performed on “Idol” on Tuesday night. Tonight on the show, the Top 12 women will perform. Results will be announced on Thursday, as will the judges’ wild card selections.
