Alberto Alvarez Allegedly Still Working For Jackson Family, In Wake Of Latest Allegations

Alberto Alvarez, Michael Jackson’s logistics director, who was in the room during efforts to resuscitate the pop star, is still working for the Jackson family protecting the children, according to a source who spoke to Access Hollywood on Tuesday.

Alvarez was back in the news on Monday when the Associated Press first reported statements allegedly made by Alvarez early in the investigation into the pop star’s death. According to the AP, Alvarez gave a statement to investigators that claimed that Michael Jackson’s doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, halted CPR on Michael to collect and hide drug vials.

Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, denies Alvarez’s allegations. On his law firm’s Web site, Mr. Chernoff wrote: “[Alvarez’s] statement was given more than two months after Michael Jackson’s death and is inconsistent with a statement he gave the police the day after Mr. Jackson was taken to the hospital… Further, his statement does not match up with much of the physical evidence found at the scene.”

Michael’s father, Joe Jackson, has told Access that he does not know who leaked information about Alvarez’s statement, but he does think that he knows “why.” Joe told Access on Tuesday that he thinks Dr. Murray is a “fall guy” in this case, a statement which echoes sentiments from his daughter, La Toya Jackson. Joe reiterated La Toya’s beliefs that there are a lot of other people to blame in the death of his son.

Joe also stated to Access that he believes the net result of this leak, strategically occurring before Dr. Murray’s trial, would be to, “Sweat him a little. Then he (Murray) will tell on all of them.”

It remains to be seen who Joe and La Toya Jackson think are exactly behind any potential conspiracy to kill Michael.
