Alec Baldwin Says He’s Running For President, Hosting ‘SNL’

Alec Baldwin was impressed by President Barack Obama’s jokes at the 2010 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

In fact, he was so impressed, the “30 Rock” star told Access Hollywood after the event that he’d like the gig himself.

“Obama was good, Obama was very, very good… We want to announce right now, we are running for President and Vice President of the United States,” Alec said with his arm around co-star Tracy Morgan.

“That’s a big f’in deal!” Tracy joked, poking fun at Vice President Joe Biden’s infamous off-the-cuff remark to the President upon the passage of this year’s health care bill.

“Which role do you want?” Alec asked him.

“Vice President,” Tracy declared.

“Isn’t that sweet of him? You want to know why he wants to be Vice President? He likes to sleep in,” Alec joked.

In non-political aspiration news, Alec also told a group of reporters that he’d be hosting the March 15 episode of “Saturday Night Live,” the show’s season finale — and the actor’s 15th time hosting the sketch comedy.

However, he’ll have a tough act to follow — next week’s episode will feature a much-anticipated hosting appearance by Betty White.
