Alexis Grace Eliminated From ‘American Idol’

Pint-sized Memphis crooner Alexis Grace was kicked off “American Idol” on Wednesday night, one place shy of the Top 10 tour group.

The mother of one was placed in the bottom three, alongside country-loving Michael Sarver and teenager Allison Iraheta, but it was Alexis who received the worst news of all.

And things went from bad to worse when the judges decided not to use their new veto power to override the public vote.

“You were the one we were thinking about saving,” Simon Cowell told Alexis before she sang Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” one last time. “It’s all gonna come down to this performance now.”

But unable to shake off the shock after the one-time standout learned she had received the lowest amount of votes, Alexis offered a wavering performance, and Simon delivered bad news.

“We’re kind of unanimous on this. It was good, but it wasn’t good enough,” he said. “Sorry. It’s the end of the line I’m afraid.”

But before she was sent home, Paula Abdul offered some comforting advice.

“You have an amazing life and career ahead of you my dear. Everything’s going to change for you,” she said.
