Alleged Drunken Driver In Sandra Bullock Crash Due In Court

A Gloucester, Mass., woman who was allegedly drunk when she crashed her car into an SUV carrying Sandra Bullock is due in court.

Neither the actress nor her husband, Jesse James, was hurt in the head-on accident Friday night.

Police say 64-year-old Lucille Gatchell had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit in Massachusetts.

Bullock and James were passengers in the back of a black sports utility vehicle, driving along East Main Street in Gloucester, Mass, at around 9:50 PM local time, when their car was hit by Gatchell, Lieutenant Jerry Cook of the Gloucester Police Department told Access Hollywood.

When authorities arrived on scene, Gatchell allegedly “had a strong odor of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet,” Lt. Cook added.

Gatchell is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in Gloucester District Court on a drunken driving charge.

Bullock is in the Cape Ann area for the filming of the romantic comedy “The Proposal.”
