Allison Williams ‘Really Happy’ She Ruined Hate-Watching For ‘Peter Pan Live!’

After the backlash Carrie Underwood faced for “Sound of Music Live,” Allison Williams didn’t know what to expect from “Peter Pan” viewers.

Thankfully, the “Girls” star said she was relieved and thrilled over the feedback she received after her performance as the boy who refused to grow up on NBC’s “Peter Pan Live!”.

“I was so happy,” the actress told Access Hollywood at the Season 4 premiere of “Girls” in New York City on Monday night. “I was in such a tunnel leading up to it, that when I emerged from the tunnel and actually came back to my own life and could walk down the street and no one hated me or anything, I was like, ‘Oh! This is great!’

“The best thing was getting videos of little kids watching it, and clapping for Tinkerbell. And [getting] pictures of little kids who’d been in Peter Pan costumes for weeks,” she continued. “That, to me, that’s the best. That’s why you do the thing.”

As for her favorite comments she received from viewers, the actress said she loved hearing that she “ruined hate-watching, or disappointed hate-watchers.”

“That made me really happy because that wasn’t the right way to watch it,” she explained. “It’s a musical. If you’re hate-watching it, it’s almost like too easy for it to be fun. So I’m just glad so many people got it.”

“Girls” Season 4 premieres on HBO on Sunday, January 11 at 9/8c.
