Amanda Bynes Charged With Misdemeanor DUI

Amanda Bynes has been charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to City News Service.

The charge stems from Bynes’ arrest, following an incident in West Hollywood on April 6 of this year.

The former “What I Like About You” star will be arraigned in Beverly Hills Superior Court on Wednesday, but according to CNS, she is not required to attend.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the star was pulled over in West Hollywood, at the intersection of Robertson Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd on April 6.

Bynes was driving a black BMW and tried to pass a deputy’s vehicle on the right when she allegedly hit the right, rear quarter of the deputy’s car, authorities said at the time.

Police claim the incident resulted in minor paint damage on both cars, and led to Bynes being pulled over.

The deputy conducted an investigation at the scene and the actress was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
