Amanda Bynes: ‘I’m Not Crazy’

Amanda Bynes might be the subject of numerous headlines, seemingly constant Twitter feuds and mass speculation about the state of her wellbeing – but according to the retired actress, she’s all good.

“I’m Not Crazy,” the 27-year-old Tweeted on Wednesday.

Additionally, Bynes’ lawyer handling her April 2012 DUI case in Calif., also spoke out about his client.

“I think [reports] are way exaggerated,” Richard Hutton told People. “I think Amanda’s fine. I have no problems with her whatsoever. She’s a fine client… Every time I’ve talked to her, I’ve had nice, attorney-client normal relations with her,” he continued.

According to Hutton, he doesn’t believe her May 23 arrest in New York City – on charges of reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and criminal possession of marijuana – will hold.

“The New York case doesn’t seem like much of a case, really. I mean, come on. Even if you believe everything you hear, it’s something that amounts to virtually nothing,” he told the mag. “And it’s my understanding there’s not much evidence to back that case up. There’s no physical evidence to back it up. I understand there’s no marijuana, no pipe.”

Bynes’ next hearing for her DUI case, which she is not required to attend, is scheduled forJuly 18.
