America Ferrera: Forced To Put Her ‘Pants’ Back On?

America Ferrera is being asked to put her “Pants” back on – and she’s apparently not very happy about it.

The “Ugly Betty” star is being forced into negotiations to reprise her role as Carmen in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film’s producers have reportedly exercised a clause in the contract which would bring Ferrera back for a sequel, along with co-stars Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn and Blake Lively.

The film, which will reportedly start filming in June, would be the follow up to the 2005 dramedy about a group of gal pals who bond over a shared pair of jeans.

Fortunately for Ferrera, the shooting coincides with her “Ugly Betty” hiatus.

This is not the first time a studio has exercised such an option to attach a star to a project.

A similar situation happened to Halle Berry when 20th Century Fox exercised its sequel option for “X2: X-Men United” after Berry won the Oscar for “Monster’s Ball,” forcing the reluctant actress to return for the super hero sequel.

A rep for Ferrera could not be reached for comment.
