‘American Idol’ Elimination: Who Went Home?

“American Idol” cut the first member of its Top 13 on Thursday night.

(SPOILER – this story contains the results of Thursday’s elimination show.)

Jennifer Lopez’s wild card pick — Jeremy Rosado, who performed Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon In The Sky” on Wednesday night — was sent home.

It was the judges – Jennifer, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson – who made the call.

The guy and gal who received the lowest number of America’s votes – Jeremy and Elise Testone – were put before the judges, who, in a one-time change up of the “Idol” rules, chose which contestant was allowed to stay.

It was Jennifer, a fan of Jeremy’s, who delivered the news.

”Well, with the two that we’ve been presented with by America,” Jennifer began, taking pauses to deliver the blow softly. “We’ve come to the decision that we’re gonna save Elise.”

Jeremy didn’t mind too much.

“This whole experience – this is awesome,” he said after learning the news. “Thank you guys for everything.”

The singer’s rendition of “Ribbon in the Sky,” wasn’t perfect on Wednesday.

“For me, man, it wasn’t your best performance,” Randy said after the singer finished his number the night before. “It’s the kind of song that you just have to put more swag in it in order to really make it believable. So, I didn’t quite believe it tonight.”

Other “Idol” contenders put on notice aside from Elise, who made it through to another week, were baritone-voiced Jermaine Jones and the lanky Shannon Magrane, who the night before hit a number of off-key notes as she sang, Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

Jeremy certainly wasn’t the first singer who has been sent home following a Stevie Wonder song over the years. Find out who else has been eliminated after singing Stevie by clicking HERE.

“American Idol” returns to FOX on Wednesday night at 8 PM.
