American Idol: Final 4 React To Surprise Elimination Twist

“American Idol’s” Final 4 was allowed to remain a quartet on Thursday night’s show (instead of getting cut down to a trio) as a result of the judges failing to cash in on their “save” this season.

AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman caught up with the ladies following the show to get their reaction on surviving one more week.

“It was like an overwhelming joy,” Amber Holcomb said of how she felt the moment “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest announced no one would be voted off this week.

Candice Glover — who was in Thursday’s bottom 2 along with Amber — said that while they had heard whispers of a possible save, they had no idea it was coming.

“We had a small idea because we heard rumors circling around and I just held Amber’s hand and said a little prayer,” she said. “I said a prayer and just hoped for the best, and I’m so happy that we got another chance.”

Kree Harrison and Angie Miller were the top 2 contestants of the evening and were not in danger of getting sent home.

“It’s a great feeling, but next week we could be [in the] bottom,” Angie said. “You never know, you can never feel 100 percent satisfied because you never know what it’s going to be like next week.”

Added Kree, “But we can’t wait to do it again.”

“American Idol” continues next Wednesday night at 8/7c on Fox.
