‘American Idol’ Lines Up Auditions For Season 8 

The “American Idol” Live Tour 2008 has only just disembarked, but already the search for the next batch of singing-stars-on-the-rise has begun.

Last week, “American Idol” Season 8 auditions began in San Francisco and they are moving full steam ahead.

On Monday, the producers traveled to Louisville, Kentucky’s Freedom Hall to face a second set of potential “Idol” contenders.

Over the next month, “Idol” tryouts will stop at Phoenix’s Jobing.Com Arena (July 25), Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena (July 29), San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico (Aug. 2), Kansas City’s Sprint Center (Aug. 8), Jacksonville’s Veterans Memorial Arena (Aug. 13) and East Rutherford’s IZOD Center at the Meadowlands (Aug. 19).

To audition, contestants must be between 16 and 28 years old by July 15, 2008, and must also be eligible to work in the U.S.
