Caleb Johnson beat Jena Irene to take the “American Idol” Season 13 trophy on Wednesday and he’s revealed to Access Hollywood what his fans can expect from him next.

“[I want] just put out a really soulful, awesome, badass, rock and roll record,” he told Access’ Liz Hernandez after his big win. “Promote it and tour it and just get to do that and promote my music.”

The 23-year-old Asheville, N.C., native was still in disbelief about taking home the crown.

“It’s crazy… what’s so cool is that ‘American Idol’ is a pop show and I’m a rock singer and I love rock and roll and so I can’t believe that now a rock singer has won ‘American Idol,’” he said. “It means that rock and roll is now coming back in the forefront of pop culture.”

So what did he feel the moment his name was announced as the winner?

“Just disbelief… it was a wild moment!” he told Liz.

Adding, “This is just the start… ‘American Idol’ is just a show, it’s a platform and a stepping stone to start what could be an amazing career and I think what’s really important is it’s not what you do on the show, but it’s what you do after the show.”
