American Idol’s Jessica Sanchez & Legend Bette Midler Coming To Glee

An “American Idol” alum and an American legend are both heading to “Glee.”

On Monday, co-creator and showrunner Ryan Murphy confirmed Jessica Sanchez, who was runner-up to Phillip Phillips on the eleventh season of “Idol,” will join the show.

Jessica will have a multi-episode arc, however character details and a start date for the teen’s first appearance were not yet available, according to TV Line, which broke the news.

Ryan had some other news on Monday as well, revealing Bette Midler said yes to his request to she appear on the show.

“Bette said yes! Amazing. I am plotting…who should she play?” he Tweeted on Monday.

Ryan apparently asked Bette while she was on stage for the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Hearts Awards event in New York City.

“And from the stage, @ryanmurphy invited me to guest on @Glee! I should get out more,” she Tweeted.

And Bette has some ideas about the character she should inhabit.

“I have one vote for Rachel’s grandmother,” she wrote.
