Amy Ryan Weighs In On Steve Carell’s ‘Office’ Exit; Reveals She’s Not In His Final Episode

For fans of “The Office” who are predicting that Steve Carell’s character, Michael Scott, will ride off into the sunset with his Dunder Mifflin ladylove, Holly Flax, as he leaves the show, Amy Ryan has some words of warning — not so fast.

“I’m sure it’s factored in there, but I will say that I left the show before he did,” Amy revealed to Access Hollywood during the junket for her new film, “Win Win.”

“He’s actually filming his last episode right now. I got back a few weeks ago,” Amy added.

While details of Carell’s impending departure are being kept tightly under wraps, Amy said when it is time for the sitcom’s leading man to bid farewell, it will be bittersweet.

“The sadness is quite palpable, but for me, as a fan of Steve Carell, I’m happy because he’s going to go make more movies and he’ll get to spend time with his family more,” . “But it’s weird when these huge characters on TV leave that we all grew up with.”

Amy’s “Win Win” co-star, 16-year-old David Thompson, admitted he’s not looking forward to Carell’s “Office” swan song, and while a slew of names have been bandied about as a possible replacement for the show’s star, David said no matter who they bring in – it just wouldn’t be the same.

“It’s such a good show, especially him. I don’t know what they’re going to do without him. My heart is breaking – what am I going to do?” David told Access. “The way he portrays that character is just so perfect. It’s so on the dot.”
