Amy Winehouse Cancels All 2007 Shows

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 27, 2007) – Amy Winehouse, who has faced a slew of personal and professional hurdles this year, is taking the rest of the year off, Access Hollywood has learned.

The “Rehab” singer released a statement on her Web site stating that without her husband, she was not going to be able to perform.

“I can’t give it my all onstage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same,” said Winehouse.

The announcement comes just weeks after the singer slurred her words and wobbled around the stage during a concert in Birmingham, England. Amy then threatened a booing and hissing crowd.

Her label, Universal Records, also released a statement addressing the cancellations.

“Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor. The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll. In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues.”

Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently in a London prison awaiting trial on charges of witness tampering and assaulting a pub landlord.
