Amy Winehouse Cancels Headlining Show At Paris Festival

Amy Winehouse canceled a headlining performance at Paris’ Rock En Seine festival at the last minute on Friday, according to festival organizers.

According to a statement posted on the French fest’s Web site, Winehouse allegedly pulled out hours before her scheduled headlining performance.

“We were told by Winehouse’s agent at 8 PM that she would not be there, and we were forced to cancel the performance,” the site read.

Apologizing for her no-show, it continued, “We have still not been given any explanations of the exact reasons for her absence.”

According to the statement, festival organizers have decided to start legal proceedings against the troubled singer.

Winehouse’s rep told BBC News a last-minute illness kept her from performing.

“Amy Winehouse was regrettably unable to perform at the Rock En Seine show in Paris due to illness,” he said. “She was taken ill at her house and wasn’t able to travel to France for the concert.”

According to the BBC, the rep declined to comment on the possibility of legal action against the singer.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Winehouse was admitted to the emergency room of a London hospital late last month after suffering a reaction to medication, following a more than 10 day stay due to lung problems.
