Amy Winehouse’s Dad Slams Rumors Of Biopic On Late Daughter

Fans should not expect to see a movie about the late Amy Winehouse any time soon.

According to her father, Mitch Winehouse, it’s not happening.

Recent reports claimed that Amy’s ex-boyfriend, Reg Traviss, has been approached about possibly producing a film about the late British singer and another report even claimed that Mitch wanted Lady Gaga to portray his daughter on the big screen.

“It would hardly be a biopic without the music and we’d never allow the songs to be released,” Mitch, who owns the rights to all of Amy’s music, told Britain’s The Daily Mail.

Mitch is planning to release a memoir about Amy, who died in July at age 27. All proceeds from the book will go to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, a charity organization created after the singer’s death to help children.

“All profits to the foundation. Do you know how many kids will benefit form that money?” Mitch told the paper.
