Anchorman 2: Kanye West ‘Great’ & ‘Funny’ On Set Says Director Adam McKay

Kanye West was photographed in costume on the set of “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” last month and now, director Adam McKay has confirmed Yeezy’s cameo in the upcoming comedy.

“He was great, and he was funny,” Adam said, when asked about Kanye’s “Anchorman 2” cameo during a recent interview with MTV. “He came up with a couple good lines on his own.”

The rapper was comfortable straying from the script and even cracked a few off the cuff jokes.

“We did our usual style of do the written line, and then I would throw out alternate lines and we’d improvise,” Adam revealed. “He was completely cool and game.”

The “Black Skinhead” rapper, 36, enjoyed his time on set so much that he returned for an additional non-speaking scene.

“He even showed up for an extra quarter of a day where he had no speaking lines,” Adam said. “He was just kind of in the group fight sequence, and he was having so much fun that he came back to do that.”

Kanye is one of many celebrities set to cameo in the upcoming sequel, including fellow rapper Drake, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

“Anchorman: The Legend Continues” is slated for theatrical release on December 20.
