Angelina Jolie Says ‘Changeling’ Helped Her Get Pregnant

Angelina Jolie has played a mom or mom-like characters in her last four films and the actress says her latest, “Changeling,” helped her and Brad Pitt get pregnant.

“I got pregnant right in the middle of it and I think partially because of it,” Angelina told the Los Angeles Times of her character Christine Collins, who is searching for her kidnapped son. “I was so emotional about children that I think something in me kicked into gear.”

The actress feels that playing maternal roles in movies are a natural progression, as she gets older.

“I don’t think it’s a choice of mine as much as it is something women deal with when we get older,” she said. “A woman in her 30s is more likely to have roles that in some way relate to family.”

And as for her own family of six children and Brad Pitt, the actress said balancing motherhood and career takes its toll on her.

“I woke up at 3 in the morning with four kids with jet lag and two babies,” the 33-year-old mother told the newspaper last month just hours before presenting Clint Eastwood an Award at the Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala. “I put myself together for a few hours and go out. And then I go home. This is my job.”

Angelina said she loves to balance her Hollywood career with an international life.

“I don’t dislike it here [in Hollywood],” Angelina continued. “I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I’m so fortunate that I get to do that.”
