Angelina Jolie To Retire When Her Kids Become Teenagers?

Angelina Jolie admits being a mom might eventually force her to leave the spotlight in front of the camera.

The actress made the admission in an interview with Britain’s Channel 4 News reporter Cathy Newman.

“I think I’m going to have to give up acting as the kids hit the teenage years, anyway because, you know, (laughs) there’s going to be too much to manage at home,” the actress said, when asked if she has considered giving up acting and focusing on her humanitarian efforts.

“I’ve enjoyed being an actress and I’m so grateful for the job and I’ve had great experiences and I’ve even been able to tell stories and be a part of stories that mattered and I’ve also done really, just things for fun,” she said.

When Newman pointed out that the actress was speaking in past tense, Jolie clarified her statement, hinting she might not leave acting for good later on down the road.

“I’ll do some films and I am so fortunate to have the job, you know. It’s a really, it’s a very lucky profession to be a part of, and I enjoy it, but, if it went away tomorrow, I’d be very happy to just be at home with my children,” she said. “I wake up in the morning as a mom and I turn on the news like everybody else… and I see what’s happening in the world and I want to be a part of the world in a positive way.”

Currently, Maddox is 11, Pax Thien is 9, Zahara turns 8 in January, Shiloh is 6, and twins Knox and Vivienne are 4.

In 2019, four of Brad and Angelina’s children will be teenagers.
