Another Crossover Headed To ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ & ‘Private Practice’

Kate Walsh may have moved on to “Private Practice,” but the actress isn’t done exploring “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Kate, who plays Dr. Addison Montgomery, is heading back to Seattle Grace yet again in January, ABC confirmed to Access Hollywood.

According to Entertainment Weekly columnist Michael Ausiello, the episode will involve Addison being called up north (“Private Practice” is based in Santa Monica, Calif.) to help out former lover Mark Sloan (Eric Dane’s character) with a case.

The case will involve guest star Leven Rambin (formerly of “All My Children,” and more recently, “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), whose surgery will take the two down to LA, meaning Dr. Sloan will be on “Private Practice.”

“Complications arise and Mark ends up taking [her] back down to Los Angeles to get more surgery” creator of both shows, Shonda Rhimes, told Ausiello.

A cross over between the two series, which run back to back on Thursday nights on ABC, has already happened once this season, involving the popular Dr. Miranda Bailey (played by Chandra Wilson).
