Ariel Winter is now an emancipated minor.

The 17-year-old “Modern Family” star, who has been in the middle of a custody battle since 2012, announced her emancipation on Twitter on Friday.

“I am now officially emancipated!!! I’m really lucky I have an amazing support system and lovely people in my life who have given me the support and guidance to have been given this wonderful opportunity,” she wrote.

The actress also thanked her dad and older sister, Shanelle Gray, who was granted permanent guardianship over Ariel in 2014.

“Most importantly I want to thank @shanelle_gray and my father for their special support regarding this matter, I really couldn’t have done it without them,” she continued. “Thank you to all of my family, friends, and fans who have supported me through all of my endeavors in life, and have encouraged me. Thank you for making my life so special! I can’t wait to embark on my new adventures. ❤️ xo”

Ariel has been living with Shanelle since 2012, after the actress alleged that her mother, Chrisoula Workman, had been abusing her.

Back in 2012, Chrisoula denied allegations of abuse, telling People, “It’s all untrue.”

“I have my doctor’s letter that my daughter’s never been abused. … I have stylists’ letters that she’s never been abused,” she told the mag at the time.
