Arrow: Dr. Barry Allen (The Flash) To Become A ‘Recurring’ Character; Find Out When He’ll Make His Debut

“Arrow” is getting a new star from the DC Comics world.

On Tuesday, The CW’s President Mark Pedowitz confirmed reports that Dr. Barry Allen (The Flash) was going to be introduced in “Arrow,” with potential to possibly spin the character off.

Pedowtiz said Dr. Barry Allen (aka The Flash) will be a “recurring character.”

“We’re planning an origin story,” Pedowtiz added. “We’ll see how it goes and we hope it’ll go well.”

The CW boss said the network is very interested in continuing its relationship with superheroes.

“We do want to expand on the DC universe. We think they have rich characters that we can use and we felt this was a very organic way to get there,” he said.

UPDATE: After his panel for his new show, “The Tomorrow People,” Executive Producer Greg Berlanti told AccessHollywood.com that the character will show up in the “Arrow” universe before the end of the year.

“Barry will show up in 8 and 9, before the break,” Berlanti said.

As yet, no actor has been tipped for the role.

“We’re gonna start casting officially this week with it and we wanted everybody to find out before we dove into that,” he added.
