‘Arrow’: Exclusive Sneak Peek – Ray Asks Felicity Out (While Shirtless)

Felicity Smoak has had been unlucky in love this season on “Arrow,” but are things about to change?

In this sneak peek at Wednesday’s episode of The CW drama, exclusive to AccessHollywood.com, Ms. Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) gets an invitation to attend a swanky dinner with the head of Queen Consolidated – Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh).

With her heart still hurting from her brief attempt at romance with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), and things with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) over in a “Flash,” Felicity could use a little fun in her life. But, there’ s only one reason why she accepts Ray’s offer for the dinner date – and it’s not because Ray asked while he was shirtless.

Also, are those salmon ladder bars behind Ray at the start of the clip?

Earlier in the season, Felicity was still getting used to Ray, a man who met her at tech town, and then used information she gave him to get statistics on Queen Consolidated, helping him beat Oliver out to take over the company. At the time, Access spoke to Brandon and asked if the two (Ray and Felicity) would have hit it off had he not used that sneaky corporate move (with her accidental help), and he said they might have.

“[In a] totally alternate scenario, like I’m not Ray Palmer, and I’m just a guy going to Tech Town, and [if I] kept coming back in, maybe we’d go out, just as two tech geeks,” he said back in early October.

Asked where they two could go for dinner (if Ray wasn’t a big mogul), Brandon said his character would probably get creative.

“Ray tends to be passionate and exuberant about whatever it is he gets into, so maybe he’s like a really well trained chef, he’s trained himself to be a chef, so he’d either make dinner or make a really cool picnic and they’d go to the park. He’d wine and dine her with his culinary skills,” he previously told Access.

Tune into “Arrow” on Wednesday at 8/7c to see what happens.
