‘Arrow’: John Barrowman Promoted To Series Regular

“Arrow” wrapped up its Season 2 run on Wednesday night, but good news for fans – John Barrowman will be back.

The actor, who plays Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer, will return for Season 3 as a series regular, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

At the end of the first season, Malcolm tried to destroy Starling City, and in the process lost his son Tommy. Now, with a daughter – Thea Queen – in his life, who ended Season 3 being chauffeured off with her dear dad, fans can expect a lot more from the character.

Earlier this month, John told Access, he’d like to see Malcolm train Thea up.

“This is not written, this is just my theory — he has this idea that he could bring her to his side, to train her to be powerful, to be manipulative, to be controlling, to also, as Malcolm sees it, be honest, because everybody else around her has lied to her, except him. He’s come out with the truth,” John said.

“Arrow” returns to The CW this fall.
