Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Welcome Baby Bronx

Ashlee Simpson gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday night, a rep for the singer confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“Proud new parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed new son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, late [Thursday] evening,” the rep said in a statement to Access. “Bronx weighs 7 lbs, 11 oz and is 20.5 inches long.”

It’s the first child for the couple, who married in May.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!” the rep added.

According to one report, Ashlee also visited the hospital on Sunday after a “false alarm,” and sister Jessica revealed earlier in the week that Ashlee was trying everything she could to expedite the delivery of the baby.

“They’re going to have to [induce labor], it’s already developing really quick,” Jessica said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday.

Fall Out Boy rocker Pete has been by his wife’s side throughout, skipping appearances on “Larry King Live” and the final episode of “Total Request Live” on Friday and Sunday, respectively, to wait for the baby.

Amid much speculation, the couple confirmed the pregnancy back in May.

“We wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child,” Ashlee wrote at the time on friendsorenemies.com. “This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family,”
