Ashlee Simpson-Wentz: ‘Thrilled That Heather [Locklear] Is Coming Back’ To ‘Melrose Place’

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is “thrilled” that Heather Locklear is reprising her role as scheming vixen Amanda Woodward on “Melrose Place.”

“We’re all really thrilled that Heather is coming back!” Ashlee told People on Wednesday while serving as host for a party for lingerie designer Carol Malony in West Hollywood. “Of course we are — she was kind of the heart of the show. It’s been great to have a lot of the original cast, and to have Heather join is really incredible. I’m excited!”

“We do a table read on Thursday so I’ll meet her tomorrow,” she continued. “I’m really looking forward to it.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Heather, who joined the popular ‘90s series at the end of its first season and stayed on throughout the series’ successful seven-year run, will return to “Melrose” on November 17. She joins original castmates Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett and Daphne Zuniga in the updated version for The CW.
