Ashton Kutcher’s Relationship Advice: ‘Don’t Wait For A Problem To Work On Things’

As Ashton Kutcher moves on following his split from wife Demi Moore, he says there is one kind of woman he’s not looking for – someone who will “change” him.

In a candid interview with Women’s Health magazine, conducted prior to Thursday’s announcement that Demi was seeking a divorce from her husband of six years, Ashton spoke about relationships and the opposite sex.

“What’s the best relationship advice you’ve ever been given?” the magazine asked the “Two and a Half Men” star.

“I think it’s all about working on the relationship and making it better… when it’s good. Don’t wait for a problem to work on things,”

Ashton replied. “The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship.”

As for the type of woman Ashton has no interesting in being with, the actor said “I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Demi, 49, announced on Thursday she was seeking a divorce from Ashton, 33.

And while Demi would likely contend there are things her soon-to-be-ex could work on, Ashton said there is one relationship goal he still hopes to achieve.

“I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, ‘You’re a great listener.’ Haven’t heard it yet, and that’s a superior compliment to get from a woman,” he explained. “But I’m going to work on it.”
