Astro Ready For His ‘X Factor’ Comeback

Teenage rapper Astro returns to “The X Factor” stage on Tuesday, just one week after he was saved from elimination. And after an advisory session with his mentor, L.A. Reid, and fellow judge Simon Cowell, the teen promises he’s coming back strong.

“They all gave me great advice,” Astro told Access Hollywood on Monday. “They just told me to keep my head up and I’m gonna work with that throughout the rest of the competition.”

Last week on the show, Astro nearly didn’t perform for the judges’ vote, after the 15-year-old had his confidence knocked by his bottom 2 placement.

Many were wondering what show host Steve Jones whispered to the young man as he was getting booed by a boisterous audience, and critiqued by the judges, but Astro said he was so in the moment, the memory of Steve’s words escapes him.

“I don’t really remember. I didn’t really care in the moment. I was just focused on, ‘Am I going through or not?’” he told Access.

The teen phenom says he’s grown from the experience and it even benefited his Twitter follower count.

“I feel this is better. It’s weird because like after the incident happened — after my Muhammad Ali moment on stage — my followers went up by 20,000…. And I’m getting like 1,000 followers a day… and I’m getting great advice from my all my supporters. I’m excited,” he said.

Astro said he’ll perform on Tuesday with his followers in mind.

“This song I’m performing this week is dedicated to those people — my Astronauts, Team Astro and mainly hip-hop [fans],” he said.

“The X Factor” airs at 8/7 C on FOX.
