Avatar Villain Returning For The Next Three Sequels

Stephen Lang, who played the villainous Colonel Miles Quaritch in James Cameron’s “Avatar” blockbuster, appeared to meet his demise on Pandora.

However, according to Deadline, the 61-year-old, whose character seemingly died when Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) shot him twice through the chest with an arrow, will return for the next three films in the series according to the director.

“Stephen was so memorable in the first film, we’re privileged to have him back,” Cameron told the website.

But it appears the character could come back in a new form – possibly a cyborg?

“I’m not going to say exactly how we’re bringing him back, but it’s a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who’s also become a good friend,” the director continued.

“Avatar 2” is slated to hit theaters in December 2016, with “Avatar 3” slated for December 2017, and “Avatar 4” the year after that.
