Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson, who met and fell in love on “The Bachelor,” have split.
“After meeting over a year ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship,” the couple said in a joint statement to Access Hollywood on Friday. “The ups and downs weighed heavily on us both and ultimately we started to grow apart because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our respective careers.”
The two said they end their relationship with a heavy dose of mutual respect.
“We have nothing but the utmost respect for each other, and both feel this is the right decision,” the statement continued. “We continue to remain friends and will support each other in future endeavors. Thanks to everyone for your love and support, it’s been quite a ride.”
Back in March, the pair told Access they were not living together and had not set a wedding date as they got to know each other better after the show.
“We’re taking it slow,” Ben told Access, at the time. “We’re ‘en-dating’ – [that’s] what we like to call it. Engaged dating.”
