Just two weeks after “Bachelor” Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi split, the world of “The Bachelorette/Bachelor” has been rocked by yet another break-up, according to multiple reports. The latest reality romance road kill being “Bachelorette” Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski.
“I love him and I’m really sad, but I have to look out for me,” Jillian, 29, told Us.
Ed – who proposed to his “Bachelorette” in May 2009 during of the fifth season of the ABC reality series – said they are working to decide if they have a future together.
“We’re both kind of resetting. Jillian isn’t happy and I’m definitely sad about the whole thing, but we’ve got to work through some things on our own if we decide to move forward,” the 30-year-old told Us.
According to People, a source at ABC said the duo “are taking some time apart to re-evaluate their relationship.”
In August 2009, two former girlfriends of Ed came forward alleging he was unfaithful to Jillian while filming the ABC series, something he denied.
“It’s not true at all. I think that Jillian and I have been the target of being one of the very few successful couples on the show. I think that we’re clearly being targeted because we are happy,” Ed said during with ABC’s “Good Morning America” at the time.
Jillian stood by Ed at the time, saying in the same interview, “Ed has been very, very clear with me from the very beginning. He’s been totally open and honest with me. This is nonsense. I feel like I am in high school. All of this stuff is totally inaccurate. It’s unfortunate.”
