Ben Affleck: Jennifer Garner Is ‘More Perfect Than I Am’

Ben Affleck gave an emotional acceptance speech during the Oscars on Sunday, where he thanked wife Jennifer Garner for her part in “working” on their marriage.

Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with the “Argo” actor/director at the Governor’s Ball, where he continued to speak candidly about his relationship with his actress wife.

“All marriages, all relationships to a certain extent, require your work. They require work and investment,” the Oscar winner said.

The 40-year-old star said neither Jen nor him are without their flaws.

“We work on it together, we try our best, nobody’s perfect. I would be lying to you if I said that either she or I were. She’s more perfect than I am, I can tell you that,” he continued.
“We do our best. She’s committed. She’s as committed as I am. We work together, we have three great kids.”

During his speech he thanked their three little ones, Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Sam, 1.

“I don’t know how I got to the place where I had three kids at this point,” the proud dad said.

Before taking the stage after winning the Best Picture award, Ben was also floored by First Lady Michelle Obama’s surprise Oscars appearance — via satellite — when she helped announce the night’s big winner.

“I thought I was like hallucinating, like a pink elephant was going to come in… Michelle Obama? Is she going to read it?” he recalled with a laugh. “She read it out and I was like, ‘Does that mean I win? Or is that just the Michelle Obama Awards?’”

As for host Seth MacFarlane, Ben gave the first-time host kudos for his work.

“Seth did great. I didn’t know how he was going to do going in,” Ben told Shaun. “[During the show,] I said to my wife, ‘This guy is a really talented, talented guy.’”
