Halle Berry has finally broken her silence about her split with Gabriel Aubry, her former partner and the father of her 2-year-old daughter, Nahla.
“It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody,” Halle told writer Jonathan Van Meter, who wrote Vogue magazine’s September issue cover story, of her break-up, which was announced in May.
The Oscar winner said that while she and Gabriel didn’t last, their daughter will connect them forever.
“We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever,” she said. “We are a family until we are not here anymore.”
The actress added that the two will remain close thanks to their daughter.
[We’re] still friends, ” she told the mag.
While her daughter is too young to appreciate it, appearing on the cover of Vogue’s September issue – one of the fashion world’s biggest issues of the year – is an honor not lost on Halle.
“What that means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world…there was no way I could say, ‘No,’” the big screen beauty said.
Posing for Vogue isn’t the only type of posing the actress is open to. She admitted she adores the “female form” and would happily have her form captured on camera regularly.
“If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week,” she said.
