BET Executive Apologizes For Chris Brown & Rihanna Award Show Blunder; Presenter Left In Tears!

And the winner is Chris Brown! No, wait – it’s Rihanna! What’s Drake doing on stage?

Last night’s BET Awards had a bit of a blunder when Tiffany Green – winner of the BET Your World/Our World contest – announced that Chris Brown had won the Coca-Cola Viewers Choice Award, but then quickly corrected herself saying the winner was Rihanna.

The confusion continued when Terrence Jenkins, host of BET’s “106 & Park,” attamepted to correct the mistake and said, “the winner is drizzy Drake.”

Drake – the featured artist on Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” – took the stage to accept the award on the singer’s behalf , but later host Kevin Hart announced that the winner was, indeed, Chris Brown.

According to the Washington Post, Tiffany – the contest winner selected to present the fan award – was beside herself after the name switch snafu.

“Bawling backstage…They totally [expletive] me up… The tablet [expletive] said CHRIS BROWN….the TELEPROMPTER said Rihanna. What the [expletive]?????? Goin home.” She wrote in a Tweet on Sunday that has since been removed.

BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials, Stephen Hill, apologized for the incident, Tweeting, “That BET Awards Viewers Choice mix-up was due to human error. And I was the human that made that error. I apologize to ALL affected.”

On Monday, Tiffany – who became an overnight Twitter trending topic – appeared to have simmered down from her snafu heard round the world.

“Last night I was tweeting backstage out of pure emotion and nerves,” she wrote. “I actually feel a lot better today and the kind words have truly helped.”
