Betty White Earns Standing Ovations At ‘SNL’ After Party, Scores 18-Month Ratings High

Betty White’s “Saturday Night Live” adventures didn’t stop after her much-anticipated hosting gig on Saturday night.

“At the SNL party where Betty White got ANOTHER standing O,” Bravo host Andy Cohen Tweeted of the rapturous applause from the cast, crew and friends who celebrated the 88-and-a-half-year-old’s momentous hosting stint during the early hours of Sunday morning. “I love it that she is hanging and partying.”

Indeed, the octogenarian proved herself as energetic as the show’s young stars, staying up and mingling with a cast that included the one-night-only return of “SNL” alumnae Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer.

“Betty is leaving the party amidst another massive chorus of applause,” Andy Tweeted an hour later. “Long live BW.”

The star’s reception was equally strong off the set, as a number of stars weighed in on the comedienne’s performance on Twitter – including teen sensation Justin Bieber.

“BETTY WHITE RULES,” the singing heartthrob Tweeted.

Other stars were also impressed, including Kim Kardashian who Tweeted that Betty was “amazing.” Denise Richards wrote that the former “Golden Girl,” who appeared in every sketch on the show, was “hysterical,” and “Star Trek’s” Zachary Quinto Tweeted simply, “Betty. Effing. White.”

Beyond the celebs, it appeared America was also gaga for Betty, tuning into “SNL” in big numbers.

The broadcast averaged an 8.8 household rating/21 share in the metered markets, the show’s highest ratings in 18 months, according to Deadline. The last time viewership on the show was that high was on the eve of the 2008 Presidential election, the site reported.
