Beyonce: Having A Child ‘Gives You Purpose’

Beyonce said her daughter – Blue Ivy – has changed her as a person.

“It just gives you purpose and all of the things that my self-esteem was associated with — it’s all completely different,” Beyonce told Anderson Cooper for Monday’s “Anderson Live.” “I realized why I was born and more than anything all of the things I want to pass onto my child and the best way of doing that is not by preaching or telling her but showing her by example which is one of the reasons I’m here.”

The pop superstar rarely talks about her relationship with husband Jay-Z, but she admitted to Anderson that he takes part in diaper duty.

“Actually, he’s very good. We both do. I love changing diapers, I love it. I love every moment of it — it’s so beautiful,” she said.

“You love changing diapers?” Anderson asked, surprised by Beyonce’s comment.

“I really do. I love changing diapers. I love it all,” she said.

Baby Blue Ivy, who was born in January 2012, gets private concerts from her mom – who admitted to Anderson she makes up “a lot of crazy, corny songs,” but a recent rehearsal for one of Beyonce’s shows confused her little one.

“I sing nursery rhymes and I’m mommy and when she sees me, [last week] was the first time she saw me perform in rehearsal. She was very confused,” Beyonce said.
