So much for rumors claiming Jay Z would act as Kanye West’s best man! Beyonce and Jay didn’t even attend the “New Slaves” rapper’s wedding to Kim Kardashian.
According to Us Weekly, Bey and Jay skipped Kim and Kanye’s big day in Florence, Italy, opting instead to head to the Hamptons for the Memorial Day weekend.
Beyonce seemed to hint she wouldn’t be attending on Saturday morning (around 6:30 PM Italy time – a half hour after the wedding had started), when she posted a photo of herself sans makeup on Instagram.
The 32-year-old barefaced star is seen in bed in the shot, giving standard selfie duckface, and sporting her new long braids.
Later in the afternoon, the “Partition” singer offered her well-wishes to the bride and groom by posting a photo of Kanye, Kim and baby North (from their Vogue spread), with the caption, “Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family.”
Bey immediately followed that post with a shot of the sky and clouds, taken through what appears to be a glass ceiling.
And Beyonce and Jay Z aren’t the only ones who skipped the lavish overseas affair.
Anna Wintour also declined the invite, as did Kim’s stepbrother, Brody Jenner.
