Bill Hader Leaving Saturday Night Live

Bill Hader is leaving NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” and taking Stefon and his impressions of James Carville, Al Pacino, Vincent Price and Julian Assange with him.

“It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” the 34-year-old actor, who has been on the show for eight seasons, told The New York Times. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’”

The actor, who earned an Emmy nomination last year for his “SNL” work, joined the show in 2005 as a featured performer and was promoted to full cast member the following year.

With Bill’s exit and Seth Meyers taking over the “Late Night” hosting duties from Jimmy Fallon, many are wondering what the future holds for Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis, who have both expressed the desire to move on to other ventures.

“SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels was asked if Fred and Jason had decided to remain on the NBC sketch show or not.

“I don’t think so. I think they’re making their decisions and we’ll know soon enough,” he told the NYT. “I’ve said what I wanted to say to both. You never keep anybody there who doesn’t want to be there, and there is a right time to leave, but it’s more about where they are in their lives.”

Bill’s final show will be this weekend with host Ben Affleck and musical guest Kanye West.
