Billy’s Blog: Christina Tell-All: May 4, 2006

I received an email from Christina Aguilera’s publicist. She pointed out that the interview was scheduled for somewhere between six and nine PM, and that my blog entry (previous to this) was unfair to Christina.

We may have miscommunicated on the time, and I feel I should point out that music video sets are always way behind and touch and go.  Maybe my ego was bruised.

Underneath, I may have expected Christina to come out of her trailer, say “hi” and explain. After all, I’m there with an audience in the millions to promote her new album.

But she is a pro and has the jobs of her people well defined. I guess I’ve gotten by dealing face-to-face with most stars. So, to her I apologize and next time, I will arrive a little later and be a little more flexible.

She is a great artist, and however she operates, one thing is for sure… it works.

Finally, I mused about the entertainment shows banning together like the immigrants who marched to affect change and be noticed… I said the problem was that when one show takes a stand, there’s always another ready to discredit them and take the spoils…

There is absolutely NO doubt in my mind that Christina’s publicist didn’t read the blog on her own.

One of our competing shows read it and quickly called her to tattle.

That part is funny. It reminds me of my five-year-old daughter who “tells” on her older sister for everything. To the point that nobody can take any of her grievances seriously.
