Set in 1931, the final season will see Nucky working to legitimize himself through associations with liquor producers. Rivals Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza) and Meyer Lansky (Anatol Yusef) will work to bring their powers together, following the death of Arnold Rothstein (Michael Stuhlbarg) and cut out the competition, per loglines released by HBO.

There will be new faces in the final season including Eliot Ness (Jim True-Frost), Joseph Kennedy (Matt Letscher), Salvatore Maranzano (Giampiero Judica), described as the "Boss of all bosses," and Mike D'Angelo (Louis Cancelmi).
