Brad & Angelina Bring Super Star Power To Cannes

The world’s most glamorous couple turned the world’s most famous red carpet into a sea of screaming paparazzi on Monday, as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie injected some true American star power into the Cannes Film Festival.

Photographers were camped out on the red carpet, in the trees and on rooftops clamoring for a glimpse of the couple as they made their grand entrance for the premiere of “A Mighty Heart.”

Looking like a classic Hollywood couple, “Mighty” producer Brad with his greased back hair and the movie’s star Angelina in a black lace dress patiently posed for every camera.

The couple’s Cannes adventure began with a photo op, in which the two served as bookends for the rest of the “Mighty” heart cast and filmmakers. They then headed inside for the press conference.

Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent was in the middle of the push as they made their grand entrance.

“You can tell by the madness, the media and the very well-dressed security guards that Brad and Angelina have arrived for the press corps,” Tim said amidst the media swarm.

The two signed autographs for eager fans as they arrived with their children. In fact, as Tim found out, a little family time is on the agenda.

“Do you have anything else planned while you are here?” Tim asked Angelina.

“Just with the kids and things we are scheduled to do,” she smiled.

Inside the press conference, it was very much producer and star and Brad and Angelina didn’t even sit next to each other as they fielded questions from the international press.

Also sitting on the panel was the wife of slain journalist Daniel Pearl, Mariane Pearl, whom Angie plays in the film.

Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush was just one of the dozens of reporters inside the conference.

“Angelina, Mariane said that she trusted you. Was there a moment when you felt you had got that validation from her or did you know inside you had nailed it?” Billy asked.

“I did finally speak to her days after she saw it and she told me it was all right,” Jolie revealed. “I was very nervous and didn’t know if I could do it at all. So for her to tell that it was done right, I can’t tell you how much that means to me.”

At one point during the press conference, the translating headsets stopped working and a bit of chaos ensued.

But after order was restored and the question-and-answer session was over, Brad and Angelina emerged hand-in-hand, giving every photographer the money shot they had been waiting for.
