Brad Garrett Finalizes Divorce; Major Split Of Assets

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 5, 2007) – He proposed to his wife on the set of “Everybody Loves Raymond,” but according to new documents released today, the marriage between actor Brad Garrett and Jill Diven is officially (since they split 2 years ago) over.

Irreconcilable differences was cited as the reason Garrett, whose real last name is Gerstenfeld, and his wife of eight years, split.

According to court documents obtained by Access Hollywood, the actor wil be sharing a hefty amount of his income with his ex-wife.

Garrett’s residual income, including his “profit participation” from his stint on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” will be split 50/50 according to the documents.

Diven will receive half of the net proceeds from the sale of their Hidden Hills home, half the balance of their two bank accounts and half of all his retirement assets.

Garrett and Diven will share physical custody of their two children, Maxwell, and Hope.

Garrett will have to pay $7,400 a month in child support for Maxwell, and $12,600 for Hope, until they turn 19 or graduate from high school. It was unclear from the paperwork, why there was a difference in the payment split over the children.

The actor will also have to pay a total of $44,900 in spousal support until either party dies, Diven remarries, or the year 2018 hits, whichever comes first.

The former couple is also splitting up their mini-empire of cars.

Diven will receive their 2007 Mercedes Benz 550 and the 2005 Cadillac Escalade. Garrett gets five cars: a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country, a 1953 Cadillac, a 2006 Bentley, a 2005 BMW 750 and a 2007 Mercedes Benz R350.
