Brad Pitt Calls Angelina Jolie ‘Heroic’ At Her First Red Carpet Appearance Since Double Mastectomy

Brad Pitt might play the hero on the big screen, but in real life Angelina Jolie is the actor’s hero.

Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent caught up with Brad at the premiere of “World War Z” in London, where Angelina stepped out for the first time since announcing she underwent a preventive double mastectomy.

“It’s important to have her on my side for everything. But, of course, when we’re coming from the other side of that thing that was difficult for us, we’re really happy to have that eliminated,” Brad told Access.

According to Brad, his superstar partner is keeping a very positive attitude about her health.

“She’s heroic. She’s just focused and intent on not letting anything get her down, taking it by the horns and taking control of it. Finding out her options, learning what her options are, and then sharing that knowledge with others… she’s a hero to me,” he continued.

Adding, “Everything you go through, certainly something like this, brings you tighter… I can’t say enough good things about her.”

Angelina spoke to the BBC at the premiere, saying, “I feel great. I feel wonderful, and I’m very, very grateful for all the support. It’s meant a lot to me.”

The actress, whose mother Marcheline Bertrand died from ovarian cancer at 56, also suffered the loss of her aunt from breast cancer last month.

“After losing my mom to these issues, I’m very grateful for it,” she continued. “I’ve been very moved by support of the people.”
