Brad Pitt ‘Perfectly Calm’ During Birth Of Twins

When the new Jolie-Pitt twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, were born on Saturday, their famous father was more than ready to greet them.

“He was my assistant!” Dr. Michael Sussman said of Brad Pitt, as he joked with reporters outside the Lenval Hospital in Nice, France, according to People.

According to the doctor, Pitt never left partner Angelina Jolie’s side during the birth of their twins.

“He was … perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional,” Sussman said.

Pitt even cut the babies’ umbilical cords during a delivery with “absolutely no problems,” Sussman added.

He also got to share the moment with Jolie, a joyful new mom.

“It was an epidural, so [Angelina] was awake and speaking and laughing,” Sussman said. “They were happy.”

Jolie and the twins, who were named honorary citizens of Nice by Mayor Christian Estrosi, will remain in the hospital until they’re ready to leave, Sussman noted.

Estrosi also delivered the twins’ birth certificates on Sunday.

“She will stay for a few days,” he said. “You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”
