Brad Pitt To Fight Zombies In ‘World War Z’?

Brad Pitt is reportedly set to star in the big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ post-apocalyptic zombie horror novel, “World War Z.”

According to MTV News, while at Comic-Con in San Diego on Wednesday, Brooks said Pitt is officially attached to star in the project.

The author also reportedly said that Paramount has optioned the rights to two of his other projects, “The Zombie Survival Guide” and “The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks.”

“I can’t believe how cool Paramount has been to me and these projects, and how cool Plan B has been,” Brooks told MTV News.

Pitt’s production company, Plan B, nabbed the rights to “World War Z” in 2007, reportedly beating out Leonardo DiCaprio’s production house, Appian Way.

According to Brooks, Paramount is aiming for a summer 2012 release of the zombie epic, with “Quantum of Solace’s” Marc Forster reportedly directing.

“I’m glad they took their time, and are trying to make the best zombie movie they can,” the author said. “I’m so glad they stayed with the project and so glad they found the right team.”
