Bradley Cooper Visits Boston Bombing Victim Jeffrey Bauman Jr. With NFL Star Julian Edelman

Bradley Cooper took time out of his busy filming schedule to visit one of the victims of Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing.

The “Silver Linings Playbook” star, along with New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, stopped by a Boston hospital to check in on Jeffrey Bauman, Jr., who lost both of his legs in the terrorist attack.

“Visited #survivor #stud #hero Jeffrey Bauman Jr. today,” Julian Tweeted, along with a photo of Bradley and himself on either side of Jeffrey’s hospital bed, as the wounded 27-year-old flashed a thumbs up. “He was looking great and is a true inspiration. #strong.”

Jeffrey, who was at the race to watch his girlfriend run, is the young man pictured in the astonishingly gruesome photo from the bombing aftermath, seen ashen in a wheelchair with both feet blown off and bones exposed (with volunteer Carlos Arrendondo attempting to slow the blood loss by pinching off the young man’s femoral artery with his bare hand).

According to Jeffrey’s brother, Chris Bauman, when Jeffrey woke up from surgery (he lost both legs below the knee), he asked for a pen and paper to help authorities identify the bombers.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’” Chris said in an interview, according to Bloomberg News.

As for Bradley, the actor is currently in Boston filming “American Hustle” (yet another David O. Russell film with his “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Jennifer Lawrence).

The film is slated for release on Christmas Day.
