Brandon Routh Joins ‘Arrow,’ But Not As Superman

Brandon Routh has landed another superhero role!

This time, the former big screen Superman is headed to “Arrow” in a recurring role, but not as the Man of Steel.

The actor will play Ray Palmer/The Atom on the CW show, the network confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Brandon’s Ray is described as “an unparalleled scientist and inventor” who will play “an unexpected role” in the lives of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), stepping in as the new owner of Queen Consolidated.

Ray’s plans for Queen Consolidated’s Applied Sciences Division will be “shrouded in mystery,” according to the network.

In the DC comics, Dr. Palmer has the ability to shrink and grow his body (and other objects) to varying levels, including the subatomic levels.

“Arrow” Season 3 premieres on October 8 on The CW.
