On AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” Betsy Brandt plays Marie Schrader, the sticky-fingered sister-in-law of meth kingpin Walter White, and when she finally said goodbye to the show, she took a page out of her own character’s handbook.
“Of course I stole something. I furnished my home with that purple shag carpet,” she joked with co-hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live.
“No, that was hard because I couldn’t get that in my purse,” she continued, joking about the carpet. “I took the tchotchke that my character stole in this episode ‘Open House.’ She goes to open houses and steals stuff from people. They probably would have given it to me if I would’ve gone about [it through] the right channels, but I felt like it should be stolen.”

Presently on “Breaking Bad,” which is nearing the series finale, Marie and Hank (Dean Norris) have taken in Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), and plans are afoot to take Walter (Bryan Cranston) down.
But, while Walt has become quite despicable over the seasons, Betsy admitted she occasionally finds herself still rooting for the character.

“I’m embarrassed to say, I rooted for Walt much longer than I should have. Much, much longer than I should [have],” she said. “I still catch myself… I’m so mad at him now. I’m mad at him. I want him to get it right.”
Betsy said saying goodbye the show was tough and it even left the big tough guy who plays her husband Hank — Dean — in tears.
“I was so sad, Dean Norris — I’ve loved working with Dean Norris, my lovely husband on the show and we cried,” she said.
Betsy is now moving into the comedy world, returning to NBC (she previously appeared on “Parenthood”) for “The Michael J. Fox Show,” playing the title character’s wife.

“It was so fun to play Marie. … It’s fun to play the person who thinks these really just selfish things and then says them, where Annie [on ‘The Michael J. Fox Show’] is so much more like me than any other character I’ve played.”
Annie, is of course, married to Mike on the show, a returning NBC News man, who like the real life actor, suffers from Parkinson’s.
“To go one from fantastic TV husband to another — he is so amazing,” she told Billy and Kit of Michael. “He’s just so dreamy.”
“The Michael J. Fox Show” premieres September 26 on NBC. “Breaking Bad” airs Sunday nights at 9 PM on AMC.
